"It’s in the times without purpose that life fills with meaning." - what a liberating thought! gonna try and remind myself of that more often!

The Alan Watts quote is great.👍🏼

l agree that there are many binaries in life (humans seem to be attracted to them for some reason-good/evil, black/white, Global North/South) that are constructed as being in competition with each other but don’t necessarily need to be.

As you describe, it is more natural to ‚be’ when your mind isn’t filled with clutter which is the beauty of holidaying when you can unplug open heartedly & without guilt.

But the aim should be, wherever possible, to incorporate ‚being‘ into ‚doing ‘ so that you enjoy the first sip of beer after the sun sinks irrespective of where you are or how much is on your plate.

As with so many things, consistency in consciously incorporating this into your life, is key. Hopefully, the practice of ‚doing this being’ repeatedly will incrementally, become natural and unconscious over time so that ultimately, you are able to ‚be‘ as you ‚do‘ pretty much anywhere & anytime.

Not saying l have been successful in achieving this in my own life but it is a great aim and even being able to do it for some of the time is a real treat! 😊
