Means so much dear Rachel! I had it in my stomach ever since I lost my deal with EMI in 2013 that I wanted to give music another proper crack. I'd always been playing and releasing since, but its been always juggling hard with my work. It feels like I'm putting a flag down for my own life and what I really want to do - and just for that its making me feel happy. I'm past the belief in fairytales in music, but I just want to feel that I've realised my own potential. Still feels that I haven't left it all on the table yet - so that's the goal. Reading your words is a fuel - there's no fuel like feeling seen by someone your respect - thank you Rachel!
“I’m putting a flag down for my own life” - what an unbelievably powerful declaration. I work so much more slowly than you, not a bad thing necessarily, but I’m always inspired by what’s possible (and what it takes to make it possible) when I read your newsletter. Thank you!
Sorry, but this time I don’t agree (only with the titel). Aren’t you the one who shows us since years how to overcome the things we normally can’t and do it anyway…?! In few months you’ll be a master of the loop station, playing it while making a sandwich. And the beeping you‘ll facing is like the sound of your nasty child…
I hear you! Yes, I realised that I have to surrender to taking the time to learn it. It's a complex bit of gear because ideally you'd have a computer interface to navigate it. However, making progress already Daniela - really enjoying so far. Thank you for the vote of confidence!
So you mean your patience is like playing that thing in 1 month, right? Take two. During that time I‘m going to o my lab wheres this one bloodmaschine always beeping like a loud todler who cannot wait to tell me he‘s finish versus the other who’s beeping quietly but determined even before he‘s running out of cups. Different and sometimes annoying. Talking to them in a friendly tone helps. But only me… Try it!
Your dedication to your work and art is inspiring. ✨✨✨
