Underdog! Dare you look once again at the desperateness of the situation? How every statistic rails against you, how every metric mocks you?! What is the feeling? The glint like a star-birth in your stomach? They see your butterflies as weakness. But you know them to be wind whisperers; That all storms bloom from their roots. Like the first flowers, Rewriting the laws of the universe With their smile, their luminance, the sheer preposterousness of their existence. All is against you, like concrete on skin, cracked in confusion - But somehow, you know this is your altar, Where all lifeblood flows; From the sacrifice, The ritual, & the yearning. It was never death you feared. Because you have been reborn a 1000 times through the suffering. Every fiber in your being bears the scars of becoming. Proud emblems. Signifiers of all wars. They attempted final destruction, But never succeeded amidst the nihilism, the madness and the absurdity. Always you survived, Because in your being is an essence: Something older than time, Symbolic of the origin, Carrier of all secrets. Today, go out once again into the mystery of things. What can be infinitely reborn Is your strength. Yes, you will be broken again in the breaking. But never your capacity for resurrection. Never your decision to love. So close your eyes now And fall into the chasm. You are Almighty, You are Hallelujah, You are Underdog!

Almighty AND underdog, now that is something to mull over…
I do agree that we are somehow created to survive—indeed potentially even thrive on—breaking. Though admittedly, sometimes it takes a while before we see how.
