Navigating Thresholds
A reflection on facing the unknown
Change has many faces. Sometimes it’s so slow we feel stuck in a moment forever. Did the world forget us? Other times our foundation is jolted. We are in a new reality, one we are unprepared for. We thought we knew our centre, but the spokes have been wrested from the wheel. How do we orientate in unchartered space? Who are we in this new world? What are we, cleaved of what we were? How exactly are we meant to cope? You are in a threshold event. It is fraught with danger. It is pregnant with potential. You look for a guide, but none emerges. Life is asking you to look in. Will you heed its call? This is the paradox: You have to look in to look out. You have to centre to move forward. A guide will come at the right time. But only after you have shown life you are accepting its conditions. Life will help you if you have the courage not to avoid your pain. But if you're just looking out - lost in the hubble, the bubble and the confusion; Your guardian will hide from you. Move in to move out. Stay still to venture forward. All is before you. All is within you.
