Earlier this year, I sent out some emergency calls.
I’d just recorded a song with Strokes producer Gordon Raphael in NYC and was buzzing about it. A client had booked me to direct a music video, and with an extravaganza of lighting arriving at Mahalla—where my office is based—I made a split-second decision: keep the lights an extra day and shoot two music videos.
Yes, yes, I admit it—there was no script the day before. But there were plenty of friends up for the chaos. I certainly wasn’t expecting Anja (pictured above) to bludgeon our poor spark, Lucas (pictured below), to death… but here we are.
But somehow, out of that glorious mess—came a splattering of quirky, unhinged scenes. Who knew you could mash up Casablanca, Scream, and The Strokes and make it work?
Well, if you could, this is what it would look like:
It’s my new single, Wicked Things—and making this video was an absolute riot.
Spoiler alert: Lucas lived to light another day.
With love and thanks,
Jim
P.S. If you’d like to support the project, dropping a comment + hitting like means the world. The first couple of days decide whether the video reaches more people—so every little boost helps! 🙏🚀
