1. Finding Purpose in Struggle

We have long periods in our lives where we feel stuck.
And then we pass through a threshold.
This week was such for me.
I directed my biggest-budget music video so far.
I was called last minute because I've developed a reputation for handling chaos.
In a country where order is revered, it's useful to offer its antithesis.
Who could have known?
Your "unique selling point" comes from going against what the world advised.
It's something to remember:
That our darkness shapes us into better versions of ourselves.
If you are struggling this week:

3. Starting a Newsletter!

Create a newsletter.
Make it a keystone.
Work at it.
Be consistent.
Some reasons to start one:
A deeper connection to supporters.
Writing sharpens ideas.
A "pillar piece of content" each week seeds all your social media channels.
Check out Josh Spector
I consider him "the newsletter guy".
He's also brilliant for anyone interested in advertising.
Guys, if you're on the fence:
Don't wait, start today!
4. Music: James Heather

My obsession with solo piano music continues.
Check out "Beginnings".
Just when you think it can't get more beautiful:
Enter the refrain.
Poetry.

5. The Hemingway App:
     Crafting Clear and Concise Writing

A great application for desktop or mobile.
Drop in your text.
Receive an analysis which suggests:
Removing adverbs
Activating the passive voice -
As Hemingway recommended!
Online writing should be economic, crisp and clear.
No extra words.
Focus is short and attention is at a premium.
Be concise.
Respect your audience to attract your audience.
